NeuroGuardian made me rethink what onchain actually means… I was opportune to try @NeuroGuardians out during the last @Somnia_Network campaign but couldn’t meet up with the criteria. But, halfway through, it hit me that this isn’t just another shooter with a token sticker, it is a working demo of what Ethereum was always pointing at which is: - Ownership - Verifiability and - Persistence delivered through a game loop. Inside the Guardian Inventory I could trade coins, purchase game tickets and view my purchased ticket history. That’s normal until you notice two things, - The coins are $SOMI and - There’s a native deposit/withdraw path. My rewards aren’t trapped in a database and it can be moved because it is onchain. When I buy a ticket, I’m acquiring an onchain credential that proves participation. When I trade or spend $SOMI, I’m interacting with a contract. From the player’s side it feels simple, under the hood it’s the Ethereum design pattern user controlled state, not platform controlled state. Somnia is the layer that makes this playable. Think of it as an Ethereum aligned gaming rail, fast enough for moment to moment actions, close enough to Ethereum to inherit the security and portability that matter once the session ends. The UI says deposit and withdraw and what that means is settle this action in a system that outlives the app. In Web2, your inventory is permissioned memory, In NeuroGuardian, that inventory becomes an onchain footprint. Coins you earn are tokens you can self custody. Tickets you buy are objects you can prove you own. I’m exploring Gaming as a gateway to Ethereum education and NeuroGuardian gave me a clean example: - Rewards that withdraw as $SOMI teach tokenization and user custody. - Tickets that live in inventory teach onchain credentials. - Deposit/withdraw flows teach smart contract settlement without ever saying smart contract. - A profile that outlives a session teaches composability and durable identity. Most people will say, Cool game, Fair, but I’d rather say that this is how onchain should feel. This is the lane I’m building in public, taking real games and translating the invisible infrastructure they ride on. I hope you’ll ride the lane with me?
