I came back to X 7 weeks ago. After 8 months away. Before that I made the plunge and learned a lot on here. The break reminded me just how much I wanted to be on here. That I can build something valuable online. So I decided to go all in. No Plan B. Just 1 goal ahead of me. Building a sustainable online business. And it all starts here. With building in public. Over the last 7 weeks I’ve been narrowing down my offer and I here to finally share my story. What I don’t want to focus on The first thing that I did was draw boundaries. I didn’t want to go into copywriting or ghostwriting. Last year I was able to clarify my business philosophy. Encouraging others to write. That is something I’m sticking with now. Where I come from I will be able to help my customers more if I relate to them. So here are a few details on my background: • 15+ years of writing experience • Degrees in communication and law • 5+ years of corporate experience in business and government agencies Reflecting on my past led me to my ICP. Businesses owners and professionals with 5+ years of experience. They are consultants, lawyers, coaches, and agency owners. The professionals who rely on their network to find future clients. 10 years ago they could still do it in boardrooms and social settings. Now they need to understand how to build an online presence. A website isn’t enough. An inactive account on X or LinkedIn isn’t enough. They need to take control of their own narrative. And I can help them do that through storytelling. What I’m focused on now ChatGBT has supercharged my brainstorming process. It helped me to connect Point A to Point B 10x faster than I would have on my own. It took me through countless scenarios for my brand and my offer and helped me zero in on the 1 I wanted. Now comes the overhaul of my entire content system. First, I’m scrapping my current newsletter. The main reason is that I now want to host it on substack. But also because the current version didn’t have the right focus. I picked substack because I want to: • build an online archive • eventually launch a paid newsletter I will share more on that later. My content on X will also be changing in the next week. It will focus more on storytelling and how it intersects with business. In line with the coaching offer I’m working on. There is still a lot to do and still a lot to learn. But I’m more excited than ever. Thanks for following along. I’m making it a goal to share updates like that frequently. So stay tuned.
