We’re hiring Pathfinders. And the name is deliberate. At Chartered Vectorial, we are building an AI-native company from first principles. As we do that, I’m increasingly convinced that some of the most valuable roles of the future will not fit neatly into traditional job descriptions. We call one of them a Pathfinder. A Pathfinder sits at the intersection of customers, technology, people and execution. Their job is to ideate, assimilate, coordinate and make things happen. They take an ambiguous problem and explore what could be possible. They connect ideas that may initially seem unrelated. They absorb information from customers, markets, technology and teams—and turn it into a coherent picture. They identify opportunities. Shape possibilities. Bring the right people and AI capabilities together. And then turn those possibilities into something tangible. A Pathfinder might ask: What is the real problem behind what the customer is asking for? What else could we solve with what we already have? Could this become a product? Could three separate ideas actually be one larger opportunity? What would we build if we started from first principles rather than the existing process? In a traditional organization, pieces of this role might sit across consulting, product, project management, business analysis, customer success and operations. We think AI-native companies will need people who can move fluidly across all of them. You do not need to be an engineer. But you need curiosity, structured thinking, strong communication, comfort with technology, and the ability to make sense of complexity quickly. Above all, you need agency and imagination. When the problem is unclear, you frame it. When information is fragmented, you connect it. When something is stuck, you unblock it. When an opportunity is hidden, you surface it.
