Just filed my first US tax return. These are from my 2025 earnings when I moved to NYC and worked at Gumroad for 2 months as a W-2 employee. Then I moved back to Romania with my wife and daughter to extend our runway and go full-time on my own projects. Now I'm also filing Romanian taxes for my business. Two countries, two tax systems. Kinda wild to think this tax return marks the shift from employee to indie hacker. From steady paycheck to figuring it out on my own. Still figuring it out, honestly. But I'm hopeful that one day, my tiny apps will pay the bills.
