365 days ago, two British founders came to me with a bold vision. They wanted to build an AI software company in Saudi Arabia - without speaking Arabic, without a tech background, and without any connections in the market. But they knew one thing: they needed to build their personal brands on LinkedIn first. Smart move. Since we started working together, Ammar and Umair from Sahl AI have: - Crossed 2M+ impressions on LinkedIn - Grown to a combined 20K followers (started at 3K) - Just won a multi-million dollar contract with one of the largest hospital chains in Saudi, with much more in pipeline This wasn't pure luck, there was a clear strategy in place. When they first reached out last Christmas, they were clear about their goals: 1. Get noticed by customers 2. Attract world-class talent 3. Connect with investors They knew that as outsiders in the Saudi market, they couldn't just build great tech and hope for the best. They needed to lead with their story. And that's exactly what we did together. This is the signature Signal playbook I took them through: 1. Deep Foundations I flew out to Riyadh for 3 weeks. Not for the shawarma (though that was a bonus), but to truly understand their story. Through intensive interviews and strategy sessions, we uncovered: - Their unique value proposition - What makes them different - Their authentic voice - Their target audience The narrative was powerful: A doctor and a consultant from England taking a massive risk to solve healthcare problems in the Middle East. 2. Content Engine We built a content strategy brief and followed a simple but systematic approach that was repeatable. Weekly calls to discuss: - Business updates (the good and the ugly) - Building in public wins and losses - Personal struggles of being away from family - Cultural observations that humanised them No rigid posting schedules. Just 2-3 quality posts per week when we had something valuable to share. The Results Speak for Themselves: - Ammar: 12K followers - Umair: 8K followers - Sahl AI company page: 6K followers - Headline speaking slots at major conferences - Acceptance to top accelerators - Investors sliding into their DMs - Customers mentioning their LinkedIn presence in meetings And here's the bit I genuinely love: One hospital executive told them: "We found you guys to be the most open and honest compared to competitors. We value that." Their transparency became their competitive advantage. What surprised me most? Their competitors were completely asleep with zero presence on LinkedIn. In the entire Middle East market - Saudi, UAE, the wider GCC - founders are leaving millions on the table by staying invisible online. Every meeting these guys walk into now, the other party has already seen their content. The trust is pre-built. The conversation starts warm. Is LinkedIn the only reason for their success? Of course not. They're brilliant doctors and consultants building incredible tech. But working together to build their personal brands opened doors that would've stayed locked otherwise. The Middle East is massively underserved when it comes to personal branding. Huge audience. Minimal competition. If you're a founder here not showing up online, you're playing the game with one hand tied behind your back. Big thanks to Ammar and Umair for trusting me with their story. Our collaboration continues, and I can't wait to see where they go next. PS. Want me to help you build your personal brand like I did for them? Drop me a DM and let's chat. PPS.
