I'm publicly announcing my goals for 2025 so you can hold me accountable. Do you think these are achievable? Over the holidays I spent a ton of time away from the computer. I spent some time thinking about last year and how I want to tackle 2025. I'm a very goal oriented person and believe in building in public so others can learn from my journey. Let's do a quick flashback of 2024: → Had a great year with Appalachia Technologies: Landed a ton of new clients and got to work with them. Nothing better than building new relationships. → Spoke at multiple conferences: Both in person and virtual, I had the opportunity to speak in quite a few conferences and webinars. → Mentored hundreds of people: Yes, hundreds. I not only mentored tons of people, but I also built new friendships out of them. I was able to meet quite a few of them in person as well. → Started a mentoring group called Harmony Growth Lab: Unfortunately I don't have enough time to do 1 on 1's with everyone, so I started group mentoring. → Started the Cyber Talent Registry: My goal is to actually help get talented people in front of recruiters that need them. There were many more things happen in 2024, but those were some of my favorites. Let's talk about 2025. My absolute number one goal in 2025 is to build as many relationships as I can. Your network is your networth. Without your network, opportunities rarely exist. For me, it's the top of my funnel. Relationships lead to opportunity, which lead to more work. Here's my plan: Part 1 → Completing Cyber Security Leadership and Management Courses → Completing classes on AI. (Deep learning, Neural networks, LLMs, etc) → Taking some new classes on Python Part 2 → Reach 200,000 relationships (I don't like the word followers) on L. → Reach 50,000 relationships (I don't like the word subscribers) on Yt. → Reach 60,000 relationships (uggh, that word followers again) on X. → Go to 12 events in person (local and across the US) My goal is to combine the knowledge I'm learning (Part 1) with the new relationships I'm building (Part 2). From this, I'll be able to learn not only from the courses I'm taking, but also learn lessons from people I've built new connections with. I'm hoping from the relationships I'm building, that I can play a small part in someone's journey to help them become successful. That is what makes me sleep well at night. That pretty much sums up where I'm headed in 2025. Do you think they are achievable?
