Hi, I’m Julia. I’m 23 and the co-founder of This is it Studio. I’m a French designer, and over the next two years, I want to make This is it Studio a global benchmark for design for deep tech companies. The last time I introduced myself here, there were around 1,000 people following. We’re now a bit over 7,000. (I’ll also record this in video format.) But for now, here it is. I’m a French designer based in Ahmedabad, India. I started studying design in France for my bachelor’s degree. I always had the ambition to build a business at some point, and at the time, Scandinavian countries were seen as the most innovative places in Europe. So I moved there to pursue my master’s. I couldn’t speak English when I arrived in Denmark, but I slowly learned while studying design for sustainability. This degree taught me the basics of technical thinking around complex subjects. After starting This is it Studio in Denmark, I felt I needed a more global point of view on the world, and on design in general. Something that staying in Europe couldn’t give me. Prachi and I saw an opportunity to build a global design studio in India. That’s why I made it my full-time base. We spent a lot of time meeting with VCs, deep tech companies, other designers, and founders. This allowed us to expand our footprint globally, not only in India, but across different places in the U.S., Australia, Europe, and the UAE. Some more points: - I specialise in designing and visualising technical information, especially data visualisation. - I am extremely organised in my work and in my life. It’s the only way I can think clearly and be creative. - We have helped raise over $150M over the last couple of years with the studio. - I work with companies in tech, such as robotics, advanced materials, health tech, SaaS, and others. - I love watching videos about how the products around me are built. - I aim to slowly change people’s perception of Indian design and help make it a new global benchmark. - I run every day. It helps me focus and stay calm, and it’s often when I have my best ideas. - I’m an early riser.
