Brand designer in United States.
My journey as I work toward scaling my business to $80K+/month Inshae-Allah :) I'm Jay (hi) , I created my X account in 2023. (why not before → I legit thought "twitter" was just for "celebrities" hh) Anyways, I started building my personal brand in a completely different niche (made some money from it but I still felt it was not for me - I loved designing a lot (like A LOT) and the previous niche didn't let me "design" like I wanted to. So I shifted to Social media design, I worked with some clients (made some good money but still, I wanted to work on something with bigger impact) So I shifted to Brand design (by "shifting" I mean opening the panel for client work because I've already been designing for yeaaars :) I worked with some great founders and this taught me how branding can lift a business up (or bring it down) I started scaling (oh I forgot to mention something important, I launched my design studio "Jaydesignz" at the start of this journey. And little by little, my design business started scaling) (Currently on a mission to scale it more to $80k+/mo) The big shift was when I started working on Web Design projects (I LOVED IT -still do hh and it's what I do now) I spent HOURS everyday learning "how to design a website?" From the technical side to → the psychosocial side... The "aha" moment for me was when I understood that a website is just a tool (if done correctly, it can be the best tool a business can have -and vice versa) I learned that when working with founders, you have to understand their problems and use your skills to help them solve those issues. So I shifted my mindset from "selling a website" to "helping businesses solve their problems using my expertise and skills" I learned a lot along this journey... It taught me that: • Learning is the best gift you can give yourself. • Knowing yourself is a must. • Business is about solving problems. • Focus is your BEST friend. • Building in public, alongside people with similar ideas and goals like you, would make the journey more fun. ------ I wrote a lot hh ------ I don't want to turn this post into a mini e-book so I'm gonna stop here. If you read till this line (nice to meet you) I hope you got to know me a little (tiny) bit more. And if you need any help with something, don't hesitate to send me a dm or ask in the comments here (I'd be happy to help :) ~Jay
