Founder in Jaipur.
A behind-the-scenes look at slow fashion in India 🇮🇳 Running a fashion and textile startup in Jaipur has taught me one thing — when something is made by hand, scaling it is never simple. At SA Fab, we work with 3rd-generation artisans in Bagru, Jaipur, who still hand-block print our fabrics using traditional techniques and natural dyes. Every print, every colour and every piece carries hours of human effort. But here’s the challenge: our production depends on skilled hands, sunlight for drying and a process that simply cannot be rushed. While fast-fashion brands can rely on machines and produce at massive scale, we’re trying to grow without losing the craftsmanship that makes our textiles special. That balance between tradition, quality and business growth is probably one of the hardest parts of building a slow-fashion brand in India. Would love to connect with other D2C founders or anyone dealing with the challenges of offline manufacturing and traditional supply chains.
