Let’s get to know each other! If you’re new here, here’s a bit about me. I'm Geraldine. Originally from Malaysia, I’ve lived in several Asian countries over the years. In my 9-5, I oversee PR & Comms for the APAC region for an IT firm. On the side: - I’ve been a freelance writer for 5 years. - A tech journalist for 3 years. My specialty is ghostwriting for CEOs and brands. I also dabble in technical writing. I come from a family of writers so; The pressure to write well is immense. I have a deep love for traveling. Visited over 30 cities in Asia and a handful in Europe. Writing aside, - I’m an avid photographer. - I create art occasionally. - I find relaxation in cooking and long drives, and - Solace in nature. I devour books, from fiction to biographies to self-help, and everything in between. A perfectionist by nature, I’m slowly working to dismantle this part of me. For someone whose day-to-day involves being in the public eye, In reality, I’m quite shy. Building in public scares the f*ck out of me. But I’m not letting this stop me. My biggest lessons: - Complacency with my mental and physical health. - Learning that no money is worth sacrificing your soul. - Letting fear hinder my entrepreneurship journey. So why am I on this journey? I’m done with playing by the rules! I’ve met family expectations for too long. If you’re from a traditional Asian family, you’ll get it. Having built others' dreams, it's time for my own path. Two decades in a 9-5 has shown me that, There’s a ceiling to your growth and value and; You are easily replaced! Money means s*hit if you don’t own your life. I want flexibility over where, when, and who I work with. Being a single mum with a 9-5, with work travels on the cards means; I only have finite time with my daughter. Needless to say, she’s the sole reason that trumps all reasons.
