Solo maker in India.
It's been a week of gratitude. Very few people know that @dodopayments is my second attempt at starting up. Last time around, I started up in Travel. On 26th Jan, 2020. Yes! Just before COVID. I was bootstrapping the business alone as a solo-founder. I had no cofounder, no angels, no partners, and no investors, (and no wife). There was no support system. And I fixed this at Dodo Payments 1/ I'm extremely grateful to meet my cofounder @ayushagarwal. We have been at it for the past 18 months and I could not have picked a stronger co-founder. 2/ We were incredibly lucky to find our initial 1000 merchants who LOVED what we are building at Dodo Payments. We have spent $0 on marketing and it's all thanks to the organic word of mouth for Dodo Payments. 3/ During in our initial stages, Ayush and I were fortunate to receive strong support from top industry angels. These angels understood the problem statement + value proposition and added critical inputs to our business. 4/ We built a fantastic team! Everyone at Dodo Payments excels at the role. Big thanks for joining our mission on Day 0 namely @Raghav_dodo_dev @amanfromearth_ @varuntr19_ @DoshiDeep94 @joshgtmguy @DivyaniMarothia @yashsinghshiva @PeteJaison @Aditeya1024 5/ A big reason Dodo Payments exists in the current shape and form is due to our pre-seed investors. @AntlerIndia, @9UnicornsVC and @vcatsindia invested in Ayush and I when Dodo Payments was just an idea. n/ Can't forget our families who lived through the ups and downs of our journeys. To all of you, a big ode of thanks. I am confident in the success of @dodopayments because we have picked the right market, the right team and the right support system. PS: The pic is from Chichen Itza during my travels in LatAm. The idea of travel startup germinated around the the time I took this pic.
