I miss soccer so much. It has been over 1 year since I played a competitive game or even a pickup game. I spent so much of my life training for this game. Sometimes it feels like I dedicated all of it to soccer, that is how much I loved it. Last summer, I had a huge decision. Go back to school and play another season even though I already graduated with my MBA, or go all in on building Nessoo with my brother. I was torn, emotional, stressed, and honestly lost. Going back ended up being too complicated because I would have had to start a whole new graduate program. So I chose the company and left soccer behind. I am an extremist. When I stopped playing, I stopped cold. No pickup games, no casual runs, nothing. Part of it is not wanting to get injured, and part of it is just how I am wired. If you鈥檙e a former athlete, you would understand. I still think about it a lot though, and with the Yeshiva University season starting back up now, I鈥檓 really feeling that itch. 1 of my best friends and former teammates Alejandro Saul is the head coach, and my old teammates are gearing up to play. And I am on the outside watching. It hurts, but looking back at this past year, it was the best and most life-changing year of my life. I trust God's plan and know everything happens for a reason. But I still miss it. Soccer, I love you. If you are a former athlete, comment below. I would love to connect.
