Cofounder in San Francisco.
Life update! @toddka and I are launching our new startup @KiteVideoHQ and are thrilled to be backed by @ycombinator! It鈥檚 been 3 years since I quit my job and just started building the software tools I wanted in the world. With $60 in revenue at the time of quitting, I was just hoping there were enough people out there who wanted the same products for me to scrape together a salary and avoid crawling back to @eipark to get my job back 馃槵. Fast forward to May this year: Todd and I were hiking in LA, talking about how it would be cool to partner up. My business was finally thriving, but 3 years of being a solo founder with multiple products, compounded by a few years of remote work was starting to get old. We decided to sleep on it. The next day, I got a surprise email: I had gotten a YC interview! I flew back to Boston, frantically prepping on the plane for the 10 minute Zoom call, trying to cram every word ever written by @paulg into my head. The interview went well. Just one problem: "We'd love to fund you, but you need a cofounder, like ASAP." Thankfully, Todd saw my frantic texts in time and was able to run out of his doctor's appointment, take a surprise Zoom interview from his car, and commit to quitting his job on the spot. We've now been living in SF for YC the past few months, working night and day on this new product. Kite is the next evolution of my earlier video tool, @MockRocket. Still very early, but we're excited! Follow along!
