An exploration of the human mind and AI: 'Lucid Dreaming' a solo show by @x_new_worlds ↓ Here's everything you need to know ↓ Last year, we set out to explore the evolution of AI Video by building a survey of artists and works we felt could allow us to better understand this medium in what we think is its formation period. The rules, the gestures, and the parameters of what constitutes this new medium are still wide open. We continue to add new voices to the project that add aesthetic and thematic diversity. This is one of the projects that contribute to the expansion of ways to use AI as part of the creative process. → Who is @x_new_worlds? ‘X New Worlds’ is a visual artist and designer based in London. She uses this platform to explore absurd realities and imagine surreal worlds that are inspired by her experiences with disordered sleep. Though AI promises order and rationality, it often delivers something more unruly - a reflection of our own untamed human consciousness. Her short films highlight these contradictions, crafting jarring juxtapositions and improbable scenes that leave the viewer to ponder the meanings generated through this technological-looking glass. She sees infinite creative possibilities in working symbiotically with AI - to open portals to alternate realities where the rational gives way to the irrational and the logical surrenders to the fantastical, crafting digital dreamscapes where human and machine consciousnesses fuze. → Lucid Dreaming An exploration of the human mind and AI 9 1/1 artworks In her series, "Lucid Dreaming," @x_new_worlds explores the creative potential at the intersection of the human mind and AI. When you lucid dream - that is, become aware that you're dreaming and able to control the dream - you can craft new, visceral, and otherworldly universes from your imagination. These dreamscapes feel as visceral as the ‘real’ world, and upon waking, they're often left in awe of the fantastical visions you've experienced. The artist sees a profound parallel between the limitless world-building potential of lucid dreaming and the creative possibilities unlocked by AI technologies. Just as they can directly shape the course of their own inner dream worlds, AI empowers them to craft new realities, dimensions, and modes of existence. The process often mirrors how our brains consolidate memories and impressions during sleep - AI systems ingest vast troves of data, which they then recombine in unexpected and unbounded ways. Perhaps that is why experimentations with this medium feel inherently dreamlike. - "There is also a feeling of freedom in knowing there is so much still unexplored with AI as a tool.
