Lots of new followers since I showered in a gallon of milk & accidentally ghosted the founder of cursor. Thought i'd reintroduce myself to 268,000 of you: I'm Alex, I grew up in a Wall St. family in the suburbs of NJ. I was on a path to spend my career in finance, but then my dad died suddenly at 46 from a stroke. It rocked my world & made me rethink my path. I accidentally fell into entrepreneurship, when I started writing a daily business newsletter my Senior year at Michigan. That newsletter became @MorningBrew, which @austin_rief & I built alongside an amazing team. We sold the business in 2020 & I stepped aside as CEO in 2021. The year after exit was the hardest emotional experience I've had. Felt like an ass complaining about my post-exit problems, but was plagued by loss of identity, motivation, and purpose. Lots of convos with my wife & walks with my dog (no ayahuasca journeys, sorry) led to clarity on my next mountain to climb.
