Building for Discovery. Since the beginning of this year, @BaseApp has become a central part of my daily routine. What caught my attention from the very first moment was the mini-apps and games: the ability to interact with apps seamlessly and meet people along the way. Over the past few months, I’ve witnessed more than 10 app updates. But as the platform evolved, I noticed a consistent pattern: @Base ’s main focus remains heavily on trading, making it harder and harder to discover new games or creative projects. Unfortunately, BaseApp’s Discover feature doesn't provide enough help when it comes to app discovery. In the end, finding something new almost always depends on stumbling upon a post on X, which makes the whole process slow and frustrating. Back in April, I launched my own game... I officially went from user to dev 😇. Many friends I met through BaseApp joined from day one. However, a subsequent update prevented the game from being indexed in Discover. With no showcase or organic visibility to grow, I had to make the decision to sunset the project. Instead of getting angry and quitting, I chose to focus and build. Out of that real need, https://t.co/irOVXEI8zA was born. BasedApps is a community-driven App Store. A dedicated space where developers get a real showcase to display their apps, and users can discover everything being built across the Base ecosystem. We all know organic growth in Web3 is a massive challenge, which is why I’ve decided to launch publicly today and continue building in public. How it works today: • For users: I’ve already populated the platform with some of the most popular apps on baseapp and added a voting system. As the app’s economy allows, I’ll be running periodic airdrops to distribute to the most active voters. • For developers: As user traction grows, devs will be able to index their apps directly by paying a small fee. This not only helps prevent spam, but 100% of those funds will go directly toward supporting our most active users. The project is already up and running; I'll refine the details publicly through feedback. You can access the website from the baseapp browser and pin it📌.
