i've run from police 18 times never even got caught once stupidest shit i've ever done fr also taught me everything about risk here鈥檚 why: i bought my first motorcycle at 16 2003 z1000 Kawasaki $8,000 cash from my mystery box business parents didn't know kept it at my homie鈥檚 house THE FIRST TIME: month 2 of having the bike ripping down the parkway 110 mph see cop lights behind me and i have two options at hand: pull over (suspended license) run (and maybe get away) i chose to fucking run THE CHASE: cop tries to keep up but: - i'm on a 600cc sport bike - he's in a crown vic - i can split lanes - he can't 30 seconds later he's gone i'm hiding in a walmart parking lot heart pounding hands shaking but free THE ADDICTION: after that first time every time i saw cops part of me wanted them to chase just to see if i could get away again ran from cops: - on graduation day (flew past state trooper at 120) - outside my neighborhood (2 cops) - on the highway (4 different times) - in the city (lost them in traffic) 18 times total never got caught THE CLOSEST CALL: summer 2023 leaving a meet cop sees my exhaust (illegal) lights me up i run he chases for 3 miles i split between cars hop on sidewalk cut through gas station lose him then realize: i'm 2 blocks from my house if i go home he finds the bike he finds me so i ride 40 minutes away park at my boy's place take a uber home everything ended up fine but that shit got me scared fr THE PSYCHOLOGY: here's why i kept doing it: the risk was calculated: if i stop: - lose bike ($8k) - suspended license - insurance goes to $500/month - maybe jail time if i run: - 80% chance i get away - 20% chance i get caught - but same consequences risk/reward favored running no this is not cope sybau THE BUSINESS PARALLEL: running from cops taught me: 1. CALCULATE THE DOWNSIDE before i ran i'd think: - how many cops - what area am i in - what's traffic like - where can i hide same in business: - what's worst case - can i recover - is upside worth it 2. COMMIT FULLY you can't half-ass running from cops you're either pulling over or you're GONE same in business: - test offer halfway = fails - go all in = works 3. KNOW YOUR ESCAPE ROUTES i memorized: - back roads - parking garages - neighborhoods always had 3 exits same in business: - always have backup plan - multiple revenue streams - never one point of failure 4. SPEED IS ADVANTAGE cops can't catch what they can't keep up with same in business: - move faster than competitors - ship before perfect - speed over polish THE STUPIDITY: looking back: running from cops was retarded i could've: - died (crashed at 120mph) - killed someone - gotten felony - ruined my life over what? not wanting to pay a ticket? ego? THE LESSON: the calculated risk framework was right but the application was stupid should've used that energy on: - building business faster - taking smart risks - scaling revenue not running from cops THE SHIFT: i still have the bike but i haven't run in 8 months because the risk isn't worth it anymore when i was making $5k/month losing a bike was whatever now i'm making $50k/month getting arrested means: - can't run business - lose clients - lose revenue - lose momentum maybe even get charger for tax evasion downside is 10x bigger g upside is the same THE PHILOSOPHY: risk tolerance should change as stakes change when you have nothing fucking risk everything start OFM dropship peptides join top g鈥檚 real world i couldn鈥檛 fucking care less get bread the ends justify the means when you have something only risk strategically THE CURRENT APPROACH: i still take risks: - spent $30k on dev for unproven feature - fired my best friend - moved cities every 3 months - building in public but they're calculated know the downside worth the upside can recover if wrong not just adrenaline THE IRONY: running from cops 18 times: taught me risk management kept me out of jail (barely) made me calculate everything now i use those skills for business instead THE ADVICE: if you're young and taking stupid risks: good that's how you learn but channel it into: - business risks - career moves - calculated bets don鈥檛 be dumb mf -adrian
